To get these keyboard layouts to work, you have to first double-click the Installer icon, then go to the Control Panel. Somewhere in there (it depends on the OS), you will find a way to add kebyoard layouts to your computer. Simply click "Add..." and set the Keyboard Layout/IME to "Shavorak (ASCII)" or "Shavorak (Unicode)" (or you could add both, if you wish). The difference between the two is that Shavorak ASCII is for the majority of current Shavian fonts that simply have Shavian letters in place of Latin letters, while Shavorak Unicode is for fonts that have the Shavian letters at their appointed Unicode code points, such as ESL Gothic Unicode (and hopefully, in the future, others).

This layout is easy to master if you have experience with the Dvorak keyboard layout. The consonants are essentially the same, since most of them lie on the right side of the keyboard, but the left half of the keyboard has been reserved for the vowels.
I designed this keyboard while looking at statistics for the frequency of phonemes in standard speech, so that the least commonly used phonemes would be assigned to the Shift key letters, thus minimizing the use of the shift key while typing. I was also able to design a rather efficient layout for the fifteen vowels, with the most common vowels on easy-to-reach keys, and to type the rhotic vowels all you have to remember is to press shift and the corresponding non-rhotic vowel. For example, Shift-AH creates the letter ARE. Note that since the consonants K and P are on the left side of the Dvorak keyboard, the Shavian letters KICK and PEEP have been assigned to Dvorak C and /, respectively.

The diagram below shows the layout. View with the font Shaw Mono to see it correctly, and note that the namer dot in the upper-left-most corner is the slash namer dot, while the one next to the backspace character is the capital G which is used in many fonts for the namer dot as well. This ambiguity does not exist in the Unicode layout.

(G)(1)(2)(3)(4)(5)(6)(7)(8)(9)(0)(-)(/)(bsp)
(tAb)(o)(A)(I)(E)(F)(f)(g)(k)(r)(l)(p)(.)(,)
(k.lk)(a)(O)(e)(u)(i)(d)(h)(t)(n)(s)(H)(ent)
(Sift )(Q)(M)(y)(Y)(U)(b)(m)(w)(v)(z)(Sift )

When the shift key is held down, it looks like this:

(\)(!)(@)()($)(%)(')(&)(")(()())(_)(?)(bsp)
(tAb)( )( )(W)(`)(~)(<)(>)([)(])({)(})(:)(;)
(k.lk)(D)( )(X)(x)(C)(J)( )(c)(N)(S)(T)(ent)
(Sift )(q)(V)(R)(P)( )( )(|)(j)(+)(Z)(Sift )
